OIL CITY is a prime example of finding interesting history almost anywhere. Driving through this area, or visiting us at our home, you would never know that this was once a booming place with ten times the population it has now. Mega fortunes were made here, it's just a shame that none of that money really STAYED here!! CADDO LAKE is a wonderful resource for the area, and some day (after we are long gone) it will be rediscoved and invested in and I feel strongly the area will thrive again. In the meantime, we enjoy it for what it offers us today, our quiet home in a rural country setting at an extremely affordable price!!.
