OIL CITY was a "wildcatters" boom town. Wild, coarse and exciting. A neighboring town was established as what we would call today a "bedroom" community. TREES, LA was a much tamer, more family oriented community. It has disappeared completely. OIL CITY has survived. ("WILDCATTERS" was the term used for those people who drilled randomly for oil, looking for a "strike".)
