Today was a very sad day in the BUTENHOFF household. After a serious decline in her health, we had to part with our beloved pet PALLY. Pally originally came from Detroit with her owner Linda who lived above Thom's store in Margaretville, New York. After the loss of "SOOZY" in 1997, Thom's first Callico, Linda offered six year old "PALMO" to Thom, who adopted her and shortened her name to "PALLY". Pally stayed with Thom in his Catskill Mountian home until 2000, when she moved to Louisiana ahead of Thom, and immediately adopted Bobby as her new best friend. Since then, she has had four siblings, J.J., Boo Boo, Bruce and most recently, SEBBY. Her attachment to Bobby was profound, literally following him around the house and sleeping above his head on the pillow at night. Up until just a couple of weeks ago, she was romping with SEBBY, who was 15 years her junior. As with most cats her age, her vital organs were failing, and we decided it was best to let her rest before it got too bad. It was a truly difficult decision, and is a profoundly moving time for us both. The following are just a few truly candid pictures of our fondly remembered PALLY.
